Can not believe it has been over a month since I last blogged. I got back on Wed around 7pm from my yearly managers conference which was held at Newport Beach. I had a blast. The company does so much for us. We stayed at the Marriot hotel and are treated like king and queens throughout the whole ordeal. There is 10 managers in my district, and we all received a $55 dollar visa card to pay for our dinner and breakfast. 7 of us drove up in a van on Sunday that was payed for by the company. We arrived around 7. We checked into our rooms which had ocean, pool, and golf course views. We had dinner at Cheesecake Factory complete with appetizers, drinks and main courses. Tasty!!!!! Then we went back to the rooms and everyone just went to bed. We all slept in on Mon. since we did not need to attend the first meeting till lunch. Lunch was provided in the rose garden of the hotel. It was tortilla rolls with turkey, ham, veggies, and some other side dishes. Then our meetings started and lasted till about 5pm. Then we had happy hour. After that hour I was feeling pretty happy. Waiters walked around with bacon wrapped scallons, and little turnovers filled with ricotta cheese and spinach. There was also tables of fruit, cheese and crackers. Then we walked out to the ocean view part of the hotel and had a awesome dinner. Sliced turkey breast, beef, and all the fixings. Tables full of dessert. We had entertainment from one of our peers who is in the LA area who just published his own CD. One of his songs was just played at the Nascar races. It is country music. His name is Peter Brandon. We were all given one of his CD's the next day before we went to the beach. It was in a nylon like breif case filled with a pair of flip flops, sun block, sunglasses, a beach towel, water bottle, and a little nylon water bottle cover to keep it cool. Very nice!!!! On the first day we were given a portfolio which fits perfect in our bag. On Tues. we had breakfast in the rose garden then meetings started at 8. They went till 1:30 when we were given a sack lunch then meet back at the buses were we were bused to the beach. I just hang out at the beach as I did not want to walk over to the shops. There was plenty of entertainment. You could ride bikes, go surfing, play volley ball, play horse shoes, enjoy the music that was provided, or just hang out at the beach which to me sounded just fine. Mind you everything was paid for. We had shredded pork, tri-tip, chicken, and all the fixings. Then for fun everything was provided for smores. Fire pits were lit and I was in heaven. Myself and 3 other people were the only ones left on the beach adn we stayed there till the last bus left at 9pm. Well worth it. It was sooooooo relaxing. Just what I needed. I am feeling so appreciated. On wed. we had meetings till 12:30 then were let loose to go home. I missed my family but so could have stayed longer. Loved my trip and was so needed and sooooo well deserved.
